This beautiful design shows the earth being pierced by the cross. The cross is embedded into the earth to show that God is the Author and Creator of all. It's all His. We are His by accepting His Son, who died on the cross that is shown being buried into the earth. He was pierced by our transgressions and we are pierced by His undying and unfailing love. In Ezekiel, God is described as "flickering like fire, a burning flame shining," hence the red cross. Note that it covers the entire earth to signify that it is reaching the ends of the earth by our missionaries, and by women like us who support these missionaries. The earth IS the Lord's and it is up to us to tell the world!
